MELT for Mental Health: My Journey with ADHD & Autism

October is ADHD Awareness Month, and this year feels especially significant for me. At 54, after years of feeling as though I never quite fit in, I finally received a diagnosis of ADHD and Autism.

My background

For a long time, my mental health had been suffering. I was constantly questioning myself, wondering why life often felt harder than it seemed for others. Deep down, I wanted to know once and for all: do I have ADHD? When I went for the initial assessment, the psychologist suggested I may also be autistic. That possibility both shocked me and somehow made sense. My final diagnosis confirmed both.

Getting this diagnosis has already begun to change my life. I feel lighter, freer, and less weighed down by constant self-judgement. For the first time, I’ve stopped believing that everyone else is judging me too. Living with ADHD and Autism can be exhausting, but now I see a path forward that feels more joyful and less stressful.

So where does MELT come in?
MELT has been my anchor. The simple act of slowing down, connecting to my body and releasing stress from my nervous system gave me the space I needed to face these questions honestly. Without MELT, I don’t think I would have had the clarity or courage to seek a diagnosis.

That’s why I’m so passionate about sharing MELT, especially with women in their 40's and 50's who may also be struggling silently. Too many of us have gone through life masking, coping and carrying the weight of “not fitting in.” MELT offers a way to soften that stress, find calm and create space for healing, both physically and mentally.

MELT for Mental Health
I’m running a special MELT Taster Session focused on MELT for Mental Health. This special Taster session also includes a 60 minute sound bath. Sound baths offer a soothing experience that promotes deep relaxation and reduces stress. The gentle vibrations from the singing bowls help calm the nervous system, quiet the mind and enhance emotional well-being. Combining MELT with a sound bath can help lower anxiety and support better sleep.

This class is close to my heart, and I’d love for you (or someone you know) to join me and discover how MELT can support your own wellbeing journey. This will also be my final Taster session of 2025 - what a special way to end the year of introducing people to MELT. You can book your place here.

Getting my diagnosis hasn’t “fixed” everything, but it’s transformed the way I see myself. I would love help others going forwards.
